I didn't think I would be back here so soon, but having had my car broken into I now need up to date opinions. My Olympus 5060 was stolen, and I need a small camera to supplement my Nikon D70. I liked the Olympus for the reversible screen, the ease of use and above all the wide angle 27/105mm equivalent lens, but time marches on and perhaps there are others now out there that I should consider. 5m pixels are a minimum (publishing photos in a magazine) but the long end is of no importance to me, whereas the wide angle is. This is a camera I carry all the time for quick pix.The Olympus was a bit bulky but supportable, but if there are smaller ones so much the better. Your opinions please!

Thankyou.

I am very happy with my Nikon 5700, great lens and compact with a 8x optical zoom. Its only weakness is in low light focusing.

Mmm, but it has a long zoom I don't need, is bigger than the Olympus, and doesn't have a wide angle lens! Compactness and above all a wide angle lens are imperative I'm afraid for work in tight situations and portability.

The new pentax optio750z or the optio SV (both compact and 5xzoom)or the s 50 or 5i (if 3x zoom is enough)

Good luck!

The Fuji 500 series might be of interest to you. The E500, 510 and 550 have awide-angle lens. Steve's reviews on this series seem very positive.
