I am looking for a digitial camera that can get close to the subject because I will be taking pictures of small insects and their ova. I also want something that uses rechargeable AA batteries and one that can also be operated manually if I don't like the picture on the automatic setting. Both the Fuji FinePix S7000 and Konica Minolta Dimage Z3 can get within 1/2 in of the subject and use AA batteries. In the past I have used a point and shoot camera and my sister's 35 mm that I only had to focus. I want nice, crisp, clear images. A lot of things I read in reviews don't make much sense to me because I am not familiar with cameras. Has anyone had any experience with the S7000 or Z3? Does anyone have any other suggestions for cameras that would meet my requirements?
