I'm looking for a high quality digicam for personal use. The cameras I'm considering are the Canon G6 and either the Minolta A2 or A200. I know that the Canon G series has been really strong and if the current reviews of the G6 are anything to go by, it continues the tradition, bettering the model it's replacing. The Minolta A2 on the other hand received its own accolades (most notably by Michael Reichmann who made a very strong case for it).
I'd appreciate hearing from anyone with opinions about this and in particular, anyone who has had actual experience with the G6 or A2, especially what you've loved and what's really bothered you, what was the actual experience of shooting with them, what was the quality of the glass/lens like and what was the quality of the final files. As for the A200, I'd love to hear how it actually compares with the A2 (apparently some think it's been dumbed down) but that kind of information seems scarce.
