I'm looking for a camera that gives me excelent macro performance. It is intended to use to take pics of fractured metal surfaces, more precisely, to the grain of the fracture surfaces.

I don't know if I should choose a DSLR or a "normal" camera.

Currently I have this accessory from a previous film Nikon that I would like to use, the Bellows focusing attachment PB-6.

I was thinking on the Nikon D70, but I don't know if it will fit. If I buy a Canon could it fit, or it isn't universal fitting??

What I'm really trying to understand is the advantage of buying a DSLR instead a normal. I guess that with a DSLR I can get various accessories for the pruposes.

The only think I'd comment on is the 8mp small size sensors appear to be very noisy compared to the DSLR and the 7.2MP small format sensors. If you want to look at a small sensor camera you might ask if 7.2 mp would work. I think your attachment may be outside of some peoples expertise. You might also post at www.dpreview.com's forums.

Sorry I can't be of direct help.

Hello, I'm looking for a good intra-oral dental camera and would prefer to not get into the DSLR's. Obviously, Washington Scientific, DineOnline, and PhotoMed offer DSLR's with dual point flash systems (to avoid washout) but no real good off the shelf < $800 solutions. Any ideas?
