I don't think there is a protocol regarding the length of your post. In any case, more is better when it comes to information. Thanks for the explanation regarding lenses. I may have more questions on that later. If money were no object, then...I think I would opt for the Canon. I am going to try it again, just to see if it's as good as it appears to be. (my previous post) I do like one thing about my minolta 7i. It's certainly compact enough. The canon does seem quite big. (But there's no reason I can't keep the minolta as well) I am waiting to see the Nikon 8800. I'd like to get a hands on look to check it out. I am not wild about a motorized zoom. I'm so used to the manual one on the 7i. So there are a few more things I have to check out. Our friend in Texas confirms that the Canon is indeed very fast, and along with other nice features it has, for me speed is a must. Best regards, and thank you...
