Hi,

I am trying to decide between these two. I am mainly looking for the best macro shots in variable light, portability, ease of handling, etc.

Thanks,

Owen

always go for the more experienced companies in digital camerassuch as Nikon and Canon.

from my point of view, Nikon is always better than sony. at least from the size point of view, u will notice the difference.

see Top brands here

I went with the Sony. I was hard pressed to find a complaint, whereas many users were disapointed with the Nikon's low-light performance. My other option was the Canon G6, which has recieved positive reviews, but everywhere I looked people were complaining about soft corners and image quality. I wasn't going to spend $800 on something I would have to send off to be repaired right away.
