My son wants a digital camera for his birthday in a few weeks - I've done
a bit of looking around, but still checking. Any ideas for something that would be super easy to operate (buttons not too small and easy menu)?
Range $100-130 or so.

Thanks in advance

From looking at Steve's reviews, I'd look at the Kodak CX7300 for a good, simple, inexpensive point and shoot with limited features. The menus are dead simple, no autofocus, no macro. Price is under $100. If you want to go a little bit "upscale" in this same price range, I'd look at the Olympus D-395. This would get you a camera that takes better pics and has a macro mode. The Oly is a bit slower however due to autofocus time. Price is around $130.

Depends on the 12 year old child...at that age I already had a fully manual SLR where I had to set the shutter speed, aperture, and focus for EVERY SHOT...and I loved it because I had total creative control.

Choose the camera for the talent and skill of the child, not the age.

Thanks - I ended up getting the Kodak EasyShare 7300 - looks like it will be just about right for him. Enough buttons to keep him busy, but not enough to confuse him. Got a decent deal on Amazon with 64mb free SD card.
