This will be my first digital camera. I've narrowed it down to these two, the Canon PS A95 and the Sony DSC-P100. I like the size/style of the Sony but I've heard great things about Canon. What do you recommend for everyday use and why?

Come on people! I'm really stuck on this. I've been browsing this forum for a few days and read a lot of good advice. When's my turn?

I don't think they match up well. The Canon seems more like the alternative to the Sony DSC-W1 by the size/weight/features. The P100 compares closers to the S500/S410/SD200/SD300 cameras as they are the pocketable 3x zoom camera.

What are your priorities in a camera

I was under the impression P100 has features/performance comparible to the W1. Am I wrong? I want a small camera but would also like the ability to change some manual settings when I feel up to it. As I said this will be my first digital camera so I am trying to get the best of both worlds in a sense.
