But in the end, I went with the sony.

I went with the Sony P150 also

There is no doubt that Canon's in general take great pictures, don't know about the little SD's yet.
I just don't think they stack up as far as reliability.

I wanted a Canon so bad.But I don't want to wait (18 weeks?!) for it to come back after an E18 error or something, especially it it happenes after the warranty expires?

So far the Sony P150 has been excellent

P150 is a beautiful camera with 7MP but wait til see you the price tag! How much different is the 100 from the 150?

Love that it is has the Carl Zeiss lens but memory stick is more expensive and I think it has no AV out.

I really like the Sony L1 especiallyin those fab colors ; )

I'm also a Steve C.

Just saw on Amazon that the Casio z40 dropped in price to $270

Hey Steve C nice to meet another

The port on the bottom of the camera is a combination AVand USB2 Port
And yeah, the Sony P150 is expensive... $150 USmore than the P100.
I went with the P150 not because of theincrease inmegapixels, but because it supposedly has a newer version of the Real Image Processor, the software is newer and so far the 7mp sensor has gotten great reviews.
Besides, I got it interest free over 10 months, so it's only 15 bucks more a month.

Iwas a split second away frombuying the Canon S500, until I read about the E18 error problemand no battery indicator?!?! What the hell is that about?
I use the battery indicator more than I use the shutter button!

Besides the most important thing to me is portability and the quickness of the camera. Slow startupand shutter lag is the bane of mankind!

I have a Pentio Optio S40. Bought it to fit in my ski jacket. Only slightly larger than my cell phone so I take it everywhere. Easy to download pictures to my computer.

Now the bad news. I wish I had read Steve's review. It's itty bitty flash is almost useless in low light situations and indoors. This 3x zoom is also useless and sucks all the light out of the pictures. Like I said, the flash is no help.

I think you'll have better luck going a bit bigger and getting a camera with more ommph! Especially get a larger zoom lens!

Good luck!

Went and bought the SD300 to try. Wow what a great camera.

I've taken some side by side comparison shots with the S400 andthus far can't see any difference.

Tessi, this is the one for you! No doubt in my mind.:!:

Yes, SD300 is really really nice, I love that 2" LCD, I think the SD200 would be equally nice too. I have it here on loan, I'll send it back later, really small for me.

Yay!!!, Steve's review of the sd200 was posted today. Confirmed most of what I've heard about it. I'm starting to lean way over to the sd200 side, now.
