I thought I might like to learn more about photography, and so 5 months ago bought the canon s1 is. While a great camera that takes nice pics I never use any of the extra features and it is simply too bulky to take with me. I'd like to sell it and buy something much smaller. However I do really prefer to use AA batteries as I've purchased recharable sets, and when I return to europe it's quite nice to if needed buy regular batteries. Any recommendations?

The Canon A95 is an option. I'm not sure how much smaller it is though as I've never held an S1.

Have a look at the Olympus C-750UZ as well. It's the smallest 10X zoom compact that uses AA batteries.

I've a Oly C-770UZ which is the upgrade for the C750UZ, great photos and features, but it uses Li-ion Batteries.

Do read the reviews on the C750UZ.
