Can anyone tell me how to evaluate "white balance" in point and shoot cameras? I would like to buy Kodak's easyshare, Canon's powershot, or nikon's coolpix. I'll be trying to get a 3X optical zoom, about 3.2 megapixals, and trying to stay under $130.

Thank you!

My father is white, and he has terrible balance. Based on this one example, I would have to say that whites have bad balance. But then again he is kinda old.

OK, I'm just kidding. He's dead.

OK, OK - I'll stop.

How to evaluate white balance - you have to take pictures under both artificial light (flourescent and incandescent)and sunlight, and then make sure the colorsof those pictures appear correct. If they are, then your white balance function is working correctly.

I didn't know you could get one of those cameras with those features under $130.
