Hello from Bensheim, Germany

I could buy a Sigma SD9including an AF 18-50/3,5-5,6 DC Aspherical lens. The price is 699.- Euro. Would it be a good purchase ?

What is to be said to this camera?
Best regards
Michael

You'll find a review of this model here. It's Sigma's first DSLR, and has been replaced by the newer SD-10 (which had somesensor design changes from Foveon, including the addition of microlenses to help amplify the light hitting the sensor).

Personally, given it's drawbacks (limited ISO speeds, problematic longer exposures, no ability to shoot in formats other than RAW,lenses only available from Sigma, etc.), I'd pass on it.

More versatile cameras at a similar pricewould bemodels like theCanon Digital Rebel (a.k.a., EOS-300D) or Nikon D70.
