It is not about the megapixels but about getting a good shot with some room for cropping or possibly making a poster sized picture if it turns out to be a winner. I also am looking for something with versatility like the FZ Pana series but that does better in low light situations, especially night scenes in the cities I plan to visit this year.

Steves has recently posted the A200 review......what I see?? Image quality is quite good, but a bit soft - a bit of post-processing is required.

But if you are looking for DCs with good performance under low light conditions - I suggest going for one who provides the lowest fnumber on the market = f2.0, like the Canons G6, G3 or G5......or Sony f717 (though this one is too old and also too bulky)

Really? I find the opposite with shapening set to +1, I get very good ready to print photos wiht no post, granted I prefert to do some post no matter what, it's a really great cam, I am impressed by the AS and also the noise lvls are kept under control even up to ISO 400. Minolta hit this one good, I keep thinking to look at the Maxxium D7 becasue I relly like the AS, even better then Canons IS, I own a 20D a love it, if the 7D was 8MP then I'd have no choice, i'm afraid if I look at a 7D I'll want one lol and I can't afford both, aArgh!
