I have owned a Nikon 35 mm SLR for 25 years and a Coolpix 995 for three or four. I think I want to move up now and these are the choices that seem to present themselves.

At present I don't do computer processing of my shots.

I want to be able to catch wildlife, eg eagles perched on snags near my home and the beautiful scenery of land, sea and sky here in British Columbia. My son is getting married and I would like to take good family shots around that event. And, of course, I would like to take quick and easy snapshots.

The advantage of the Coolpix 8080 is the built in telephoto and vibratioin reduction. Is the shutter delay a loss for nature photography?

The D70 sounds great but the cost is much higher especially if I want a longer telephoto.

The Pentax is cheaper and it looks to me as if it would be possible to buy a used telephoto to match it.

The Olympus is also less expensive and look as if it may have a good feature set. The telephoto would be expensive.

I have always believed that quality is a good investment in most products.
