I'm looking to buy my first digital camera and I have to say that I'm overwhelmed with the choices and the reviews around. Essentailly I am looking for a camera I can technically grow with. I'm currently a novice but I have some books and I'm intending on enrolling on a course or two. My main interests are landscape and architecture, as well as general holiday and party snaps, however I'm intrigued by some of the macro shots I've seen recently and would love to play with that.
Here's a list of features I'm looking for:
- good quality images with low noise
- ability to crop images, therefore fairly resonable megapixel size (at least 4 or 5)
- compact, pocketable camera (at least larger coat pockets anyway)
- 28mm equivalent for wider shots ( but I guess I'll have to sacrifice something for this)
- manual operation and good 'scene' modes
- good macro ability
Does this sound about right ? Is the S70 a good choice or is there something else out there you would recommend?
Thanks in advance
