hey im looking to buy a digicam.

i need something:

under $300 (or around there)

as good quality as it can get - for everyday use, low light use, etc

i want a camera that i can somehow add lenses with, or adapters, for macro and other use

is the powershot a85 the best of its kind?

i just want a decent overall camera. what are my options?

thanks

I would buy either a Canon A95 or a Sony DCS-w1 or V1

Hi,
I went through this a day or 2 ago, I bought the A85 and i take alot of macro stuff in bad light, its brill. The guy who posted to me said either of my choice was ok. If you opt for the A95, next week someone will tell you to opt for AThousand and 10 if you get my drift. My first digi cam was 1.2 mega pixels and it still out performs my partners state of the art 4 mega pixels in macro mode, but the A85 blows my old one out of the water. My advice set your budget, read reviews here and users reviews somewhere else and if you are happy in your heart buy it.
