I am looking at possibly buying a Digital Rebel from a gentleman in Canada.

I live in the US.

Does anyone know if I will be responsible to pay any expensive import taxes or duties?? The price of the camera is spot on and i would hate to have that ruined by outragous government fees.

Appreciate any and all replies

I've purchased a few things from the icebox up north, and have never paid any excessive fee's. You should consider going to the US Customs web site and determine what you would have to pay.

From past experience I recall if the Customs declaration places of value of more than $200, the shipment will automatically go through a broker. The killer is, sometime later you will get a bill from the broker in the neighborhood of $60. This has not happened to me personally but has happened to friends.
