I am new at digital cameras. These two camera are in my price range and both writeups are impressive. I realize the FZ15 is 4 megs and the PS945 is 5. The big difference seems to be the zoom and the stableization feature of the FZ15.

I will be taking mostly family parties/outings and vacation type of pictures. I will be putting most of the pictures on the computer and printing only certain ones. The prints would not be any bigger than 8x10. I do some croping now but only for effect or to bring the subjust closer.

Thanks for your help.

I have the Panasonic FZ20, so I am biased. I think for your purposes you will be more than happy with the FZ15 and its zoom capabilities. I am not familiar with the other camera, but if the only advantage is the extra megapixel, it's not worth it. 4MP is more than enought for the screen and 8x10 prints.

Thanks for your help. Your input has made a big impact on my decision and eased my mind. I am 65 and the panasonic will probably be the last camera I buy.

Thanks again and I am passing your site on the others.

By the way, you might want to wait for the FZ4 which will be released shortly. It is a lot smaller than the FZ15, but otherwise identical, if you prefer a more compact camera. And it will be priced about the same.

Thanks but I prefer a bigger camera to hold. I have had the smaller compact cameras. Nice to carry but with bad eyes and big hands... they are hard for me to handle.

I am getting my from Dell at $426.00. I found it for as low as $365 but the company/site reviews for service and realiability were not favorable.

Thanks again
