I have the sony DSC-V1 and while it has been ok the biggest downfall is inside pictures and the lag time so I am missing shots. I am taking a digital camera class and the photographer suggested that I look at SLR camera.

I just saw an add for the Canon EOS Digital SLR and the price is $799.99... anyone have it ...how is the lag time on indoor photo's?

Thanks

i had the Rebel from for about two days and returned it and purchased the new Rebel XT. ($999.99) for the $200 i got a faster startup time (0.2sec) and 8Mp resolution, as well as AI sevro focus and a few other upgraded features. take a look at the XT if it is in your price range but if you want to go with the rebel it is great at indoor photos as well. the lag time is almost non-existant with either camera.

here is a indoor basketball picture i took with my XT

Thanks for the info...great pic.no one is blurry like they are with my current Sony.

When you take indoor pictures do you need to have it on a burst mode or was that just a single shot. Also..if you don't mind how fast is after taking a picture indoors on the recharge with flash to take another. I see an ad for the XT and it is saying 3 frames per second...which would be awesome but is that indoor or outdoor...flash or no flash.

Thanks
