I bought similar lenses. The results weren't brilliant. There was obvious distortion in the telephoto.

Unfortunately, it seems to very hard to get lenses with good results for less than $100 (for just a single lens).

thx robo. I also have to ask, what do you think of this one?

I heard this one is pretty nice:

I don't know about the threading of the lens, nor have I used this lens. I did use a different Olympus lens (not a TCON-17) before with my Fuji S7000. I think it was 1.5X optical zoom. It was ok. Go to:

It's a good price. I feel better about that lens than those cheap ones on Ebay.

If you end up getting it, let me know how it turns out.

Good luck!

There seems to be a general consensus that the Digital Optics lenses are junk. The C-160 is okay although it will probably vignette at anything less than full telephoto. The C-210 will give you more reach than the C-160, and I have the impression from things I've read that it's considered a better lens. I have no personal experience with it. The discontinued Olympus B300 and the Olympus TCON-17, which is apparently just a rebadged B300, are excellent lenses although they will cost more. If you can find a discontinued Olympus A200, it should cost less than the B300 and is an excellent lens, also.
