I'm concidering the s1 myself. I prolly won't take a whole lot of indoor photos, but it would be nice if it could handle that too. I heard the autofocus is REAL slow though.

here's a gallery with a few photos taken with the s1:

I have been looking at digital cameras for ~ well too long now, I have a cheapie but need to upgrade, I've read the reports, I've held the cameras, I've tried the cameras and boy is the competition fierce., At the end of the day If I could afford it it would definitely be a digital SLR but the price is way out of my reach albeit their price is dropping all the time, a good compromise is the Nikon 8800, a cracking bit of kit, see Steve's report but at £580 I would sooner spend the difference on an SLR. I keep on coming back to good old Olympus and with the specs' of the 770UZ well what more could you want, even the dinky remote, I must have read more reports than a retiring headmaster, albeit mine all related to cameras, almost every time it comes back to the picture quality of Olympus and the added benefit of the 2 year warranty. I have just found a site that has the 770 at £224 ~ they have just dropped the price 2 weeks ago ~ by £70 ~ must be a NEW model due out ~ anyone want the link let me know.
Anyway ~ any of you proud 770 owners out there can tell me the pros' and cons 1st hand ! THON ~ you out there, I know you've got one ~ lol ?
Help guys ~ please.
Hope this helps Deebee :G

Hi Amaze,

Had a look at the photos... They have come out real good...

Did you face any problem with Indoor Photos or it comes out pretty good??? I would also be taking some indoor shots and like to know how it performs for that as well... On the whole how would you rate S1vs A95...

Thanks for your inputs...

oh, they're not my photos, they were taken by a review-site. right now, I'm really stuck between the a95 and s1. some guy said he got great indoor pics with the s1 after he learned "hyperfocal settings". I've sent him a pm, asking him to explain what that means, still waiting for reply. here's the quote:

"Low light focus problems - I learned about hyperfocal settings and take GREAT pics indoors now 100% of the time"

Amaze,

Even I'm struck between A95 and S1.. Infact posted some questions on other forums and not enough info to go ahead with my purchase... Hyperfocal setting really interests me... One of them said there is no much difference in image quality between A95 and S1... Only thing is the AF in indoor or low light settings... Would appreciate if you can drop a note if you get any further info regarding indoor photography in S1... If I'm convinced that indoor shots will come good with proper balance I would better go with S1...

Thanks again for your replies...
