Thinking of buying the panasonic fz5 before I heard about the canon s2is. Does anyone think it is worth waiting for.

I'd rather see 6 MP on 1/1.8" CCD in the S2 IS instead of the 1/2.5" CCD processing 5 MP.

I don't know what Canon's up to - following other cam makers or take a stand ...

I was thinking the same thing shutterbuggy. At least put the canon s500 ccd in the s2, but who knows maybe the pictures will benice or noisy who really knows. I guess we will just have to wait.

Better in what sense? I consider AA batteries an advantage.
Extra sets are cheap, and you can substitute off
the shelf alkalines in a pinch. There's been tremendous improvement in NiMH AA's in the recent past. You can get 2500AH AA's for $10 for a set of 4.

I also prefer AA batteries. Also if your stuck in a jam you can pretty much get AA batteries anywhere.
