I really like the features of the DiMAGE 7Hi, however I feel it may be dated?

Is a current model that matches the features of this camera available? A200?

Thanks

Use the "buyer's guide" on this site. Plug in the features of the 7Hi, and then read the reviews for what comes up. All your answers will be discovered within...

I can only speak for myself, of course, but I don't see any reason to change from 7hi to anything else. The A1 has anti-shake, and the A2 has the 8mp sensor and higher resolution EVF. A200 keeps 8mp, but loses the hi-res EVF.

If the 7hi is what you think has the right combination of features, you should still be able to find one, and at a price much reduced from a year or two ago.

It depends on how much you want to spend. I have a 7Hi, and I love it. My dad has an A2 and he loves it. I think that for about $100-$200(if that) more you can get an A2 over a 7Hi. . .and its worth it. you get anti shake, super high rez EVF, 8MP, 3D tracking AF, and lots more.

the a200 seems a good compromise between the two, if you can live without the high res evf it looks to be one of the best values out there for an anti-shake 8mp..

I own an A200 and love it. I paid $540 US a short while ago. The A2 has a few more manual controls on the camera body rather than going through a menu and from what I have read the hi res EVF is plain awesome. The A200 however has the twist and swivel LCD which is great, and both use the samesensor and lens. The entire line is great in my opinion. Good luck!

Keep in mind that the 7Hi is a three year old camera so the review is comparing it to the state of the art at that time. So also read the reviews for the A1, A2, and A200 to get an idea of the improvements in that time.
