The new d70s has caught my eye and I am considering it. I have heard that the d70 (no s) functions very similiar to the d70s when it has all of its firmware upgraded. The differences are not worth the extra money. How true it this? What are your opinions?

they are the exact same camera. its just a scheme by nikon to drag out the d70 as long as they can.

the d70s has a firewire port i think (doesnt even matter any ways as the speed of your transfer will be limited by your cf card), and a lcd that is .2" bigger.

other than that they are literally 100% identical.

Thanks for the input. I will probably wait as I have a s1 pro and am happy enough with that for the moment. Perhaps when the d70 comes down I may jump in. Thanks to all who contributed. Eric
