quick question, i understand the differences between these two cameras, the a95 having full manual control, using AA batterys whilst the sd300 is smaller and uses a battery pack, but how does the photo quality compare?

Why not look at the sample photos in the reviews both here and at the other popular digicam sites, and decide for yourself? You can also look at the Digital Camera Review Page and Imaging Resource. Some of these reviews even have test pattern shots, so it will be quite easy to discern the difference (if any).

as you can imagine i have already done that, looking at reviews on various sites and camparing, i thought the point of this section of the forum is to assist people looking for help who really are at there whits end and cant make a descion, obviously i was wrong...

Obviously where you were wrong was to assume that we already knew what you have already done. Nowhere in your post did you mention that you had already seen sample photos, or even knew of their existence. Had you mentioned that you have already seen sample photos, I would not have directed you to those places.

If you have already seen sample photos, many of which are quite detailed, then why would you need to how they compare? You can see for yourself -- that is why they put up the photos in the first place....

sorry, once again, because i thought this was an advice forum, where people who know alittle more than the average person about photography...if it was as simple as looking at two sets of photos from different cameras there would be no need for this particular section of this forum...

Hey Alone: Have you tried using the search function on this and other forums. These two cameras have been compared before.
