Hi to all.

I am trying to find a good camera that will work easily and take nice pictures in a 'concert' setting. That is all this camera will be used for.

I have had numerous cameras so this is why I am having a hard time.

I had the Olympus 2100 UZ, Fuji S602, Panasonic Lumix LZ1 ( I believe) and the Canon Digital Rebel. I do nont want another DSLR as that is too big to take to a concert.

Photos I had with the S602 and Lumix were great, so I am looking at the Lumix FZ20 and or FX5, also the Olympus Sport Zoom or Fuji 7000 (i think).

Is it better to get a camera with ISO 800? I normally am sitting in the front row so Zoom is not a big plus. I need something that will take clear shots and is easy to use and set up.

I am not looking to spend $$$ as this is just for fun and I have a everyday digital (Canon SD400). I tried it at a show and the pictures were not very good.

Thanks!

Zach

For most concerts, it is indeed better to have high ISO. Since you don't need ultra-zoom capabilities, you should consider the Fuji F-10, which is the only compact and fairly inexpensive camera with an ISO that goes up to 1600.

Thank you. I hadn't seen this model. I can't find any reviews. I believe if I can use something at ISO 800 it will be fine, as that is what I used with the Fuji S602. And actually the Lumix came photos came out nice with the ISO at 400.

So hard to chose, as I will probably only use it 5-10x per year.......

I will look and see if I can find any reviews of the Fuji F-10.

Thank you.

you can find a good review of the f10 at www.dpreview.com

i agree with philr.. for low light work, such as a concert... the only compact i would think of bringing would be the fuji f10... nothing else has ISO's that go to 1600 and nothing else can control noise like the f10..

best regards, dustin

Thank you to all.

Just throwing this out, but if I needed all the above and a camera with a zoom of about 200mm what camera would you recommend?

Thanks!
