Hi there! I am lost & looking for your all's help! :?

We need to upgrade our digital camera from our Sony Cybershot DSC-P5 because it is too darn slow! Our baby is doing something adorable, I "click" and by time the camera is finished taking it's picture, the cute moment is gone!

We would prefer not to spend over $400-500 and our main requirements are speed & quality. (And ease of use would be nice too - we are not technologically challenged, but again, if we need to click fast to capture that great moment, it needs to be easy!)

Any suggestions? THANK YOU, IN ADVANCE!!!

Take a look at Fuji E550 or the F10.

I have similar needs to you and think the Sony P200 and Fuji F10 are both good choices. The Canon SD500 is another good choice but costs more and has a bit slower autofocus.

Thank you both for your feedback. I will check into these further. It is very nice to have the field narrowed down a bit. If you have any other advice to offer, I would love to hear it.

Thanks again for your help!

I must agree with the others regarding the speed of the F10. Even more important is the ISO 1600 capability of this camera. This will enable you to take low light pics without flash, thereby not distracting baby.

Take a look at some of the sample pics here, especially the theatre shot taken at ISO 1600. I doubt you could have taken that shot with anything other than a DSLR.
