I'm looking to replace my Casio Exilim Z40, and I've narrowed the field down to the Canon SD500 and Sony P200.* This is what I'm looking for:1.* Good image quality in low-light conditions.* This is the main complaint I have against my current Casio.* I've read that the Canon has better image quality and less noise in low light than the Sony.* Is that correct?2.* Takes good pictures in macro mode.* Which is better?3.* Sharp pictures even with some hand-shaking.* I usually have a steady hand, but with my Casio, a lot of pictures come out blurry if I take it with one hand.4.* Manual controls.* From the reviews I've read on the net, it seems as though the Canon generally has better image quality but the Sony has manual controls for aperture and ISO.* Some of the reviews I've read stated that the Canon takes such good pictures with the built-in modes that you don't need manual controls.* Is this true?Thank you for reading.* Any input would be appreciated.

If low light photography (without flash) is your main concern, take a look at the Fuji F10. It is ISO 800 and 1600 capable - the Canon and Sony models you've selected only go up to ISO 400. It is rather sparse as far as manual controls, and lacks an optical viewfinder, but since it can operate at the higher ISO settings, faster shutter speeds can be utilized, thereby eliminating or reducing hand shake.

Sorry to add the last minute additional camera suggestion, but I thought the F10 might interest you. Good luck with your hunt.
