Does anyone know of a digital camera that has live video output similar to a dedicated video camera Steve's digicams never make comment on this aspect when reviewing cameras

I'm intersted in Canon SD500 but you have to switch to video playback to get a video output signal via the USB 2.0 cable in other word its not realtime so you cant plug into computer to view prior to recording

Canon sd500 is the only camera I can find that has AVI output at 30fps which I want for Windows player, whilst others have MOV or MPEG 2 or 4

The fuji finepix 602 could do live streaming for webcam purposes.

I think a number of digicams have that capability.

If you want real video quality, buy a minidv videocam. You can get them as cheap as $300 these days.

Hi Terry

Thanks I will look at the Finepix 603

I realise that video camera is better, but the still cameras are getting better all the time, so trying to get away with one that does both
