I looked thru the post and reviews and I think I am more cofused them before. It seems like one camera will be better at somes thing and then be be bad at others so it is very hard to decide. I am looking to buy a camera at my localWalmart. I know there may be cheaper better places but I have to use layaway so...

I would like one that is good for a beginner but does have a few options that would be helpful once I get a little experience. If there is anything I coiuld add to help ytou help me let me know.

Anyway here is the list. I have put the ones inred that seem to be the good ones from the reviews.

Nikon
Coolpix 4600
Coolpix 5600

Kodak
DX7440
C330
C340

Canon
Powershot A520

Pentex
Optio 50

Fuji
S3100
Finepix A345
A350

Olympus
D-545

Thanks for taking the time.

The Kodak 7440, or 7630 are good feature packed cameras, the take good shots with superb color, with a new "special" large 2.2" LCD that you can see with in the darkest conditions (I don't think anyother cameras have this good a feature, most go black atcertain varyinglight levels), plus shutter lag, shooting, & burst mode is prettyfast, the 7440 if you can find it, has in addition a 4X zoom, & 33mm wide lens, plus shoots, & cycles, a bit faster then the 7630. The new Z730 is the replacement for the 7440.The Fugi is a good cam, but is totally automatic, and has no sound in video. Not familiar with the other cams.

The Nikon's, Fuji's, and Olympus don't have much in the way of manual controls, so they would not be a good choice for someone who wants "a few options". Out of that list, I would pick either the Canon A520 or Kodak 7440. Both are great cameras, so I wouldn't sweat the decision. Just get the one that looks better to you, then go out and shoot something....

I was told from somebody that Kodaks in general take blurry pictures. I see they arn't perfect but is it the camera or the photograpger?

Quote:
In the first pic, notice how blurry everything is (It's this way with
every Kodak picture). But especially on the pinstriping on the
gastank, you can barely see it because it's blurred so much. Also, you
notice how blurred his jeans are, you don't even see any texture.

Quote:
The second pic. This is a simple picture, but it shows you how poorly
Kodak's handle diagonals. Most cameras can take better horizonal and
vertical aspects better than diagonal, but this shows how poorly Kodak
does.

Third one. Again, just the general blurriness of the pictures.
