I need to buy a digital camcorder for my office, and I am bewildered by the selection.

I think the $600 range is realistic for the camera, not including all the extra hardware and software I'm sure I'll purchase.

They want to use it for filming short films of boats and anchorages which will constitute many varied lighting conditions, and it will also be used for interviews. The span of these should be from 20 seconds to five minutes after editing.

The video will mostly be used for web applications, although it should be of sufficient quality to burn onto DVD without embarassing us.

Any suggestions or feedback??
