I'm looking for a new camera but have no experience with manual controls but would be willing to play and learn and have narrowed my options to: canon sd500, sony w7, casio z750 and the fuji f10. I.m going to Vegas in a couple of months and will be taking a lot of night time shotsand indoor (low light?) shots in casinos and am looking for one that best performs in these conditions. I was leaning to the sd500 but got scared off by stories of poor quality shots in low light, high amounts of purple fringing, and lack of manual control. Most of the time I'd just point and shoot but I'd like the option that if I did want to tweak, i could. After looking at user opinions and reviews from sites, I'm now fancying the casio. I've seen some sample images and i've found the colours are very striking and the richness is to my liking but i couldn't find any night time shots. Any advice would be appreciated as it will help prevent my head from exploding!

Of the digital camera that you have mentioned, only the Fuji F-10 has any real low light/ night caabilities unless you want to use a tripod and suffer through very low shutter speeds.

Because both the F-10 (less than $300 in the USA) and the Olympus Stylus 800 (less than $400 in the USA) can use high ISO settings of 800 and 1600 they are much more able to deal with low light leve and night photography.

Here is an example of what the Fuji F-10, which has very few manual controls, can do at night.

Has the f10 got less controls than the z750? I don't suppose by any chance anyone has got one of the cameras i've mentioned and actually used it in or outsideVegas casinos?

Yes, the Fuji F-10 has fewer controls than the Casio 750Z. However it takes great existing light shots. Here is another example.

I recommend F10 too~For its 2.5inch big screen and its image quality.

Manual control? If you can got good pics in auto model you won't want to use a manual control....

Rodrubber,

According to your needs. F10 is the way to go.
