According to your experience which of the 2 options is the most convenient? What are the pro's and con's?

Thanks for your answers.

I'd go for the two. I have 2 128 cards for my little digital camera and plan to have 2 cards when I eventually buy a Dslr.

Reason: very non-technical - in the old days I never felt right going out without a spare film and it seems just the same with digital. Perhaps more importantly for me, I'm not very good at remembering to download photos and I would hate to go out and find that my one and only card was full. If the card in the camera is full, I've always got a spare; and that prompts me to download the full card and reformat it ready for spare.

One other point. Cards are moving towards 8 Gb and you can store a heck of a lot of pics even with todays megapixel cameras. The potential to lose months of photos is just too great.

I'd go for 2 or 3 of whatever size card gives you a decent couple of days shooting.
