Redhead-

You might want to take a look at the Olympus C-5500. It meets all of your requirements and sell for around $210.

I have tried various cameras but the cheapest one that came out the best was a Fuji s5500! Here are a few shots i have taken with it to give you an idea.

I would honestly say that there is no doubt about it, it's fast, easy to use, goes from ISO 64 - 400, has 10x zoom, and is 4mp, pretty basic, simple to use, but extremely effective!
I think there is also a newer version of the camera, the S5200, im not sure if you can even buy it yet but it seems to have all the specs of the S5500, but with some extra bits, also with a higher range of ISO settings. It has 5.1mp replacing the S5500 4mp, ad if it's anything like the S5500 it will be extremely fast to respond, just right for what you want! Both the S5500 and the S5200 can record movies with sound.

cloudsurfer-

Thanks for thewonderful photos. They provide a great photo example of action shots.

Mickey-

Please note that these are telephoto shots taken with a 10X optical zoom digital camera, sold in the Unites States as the Fuji S-5100 for around $250.

TheS5500 does pretty well indoors, the flash is easily bright enough and has a good range, also you can adjust the brightness of the flash too.

Here are a couple of indoor shots, the one with in the hut was taken at night, and the Christmas one was taken during the day although it was pretty dark outside.

In the US the lowest prices are around about $250

In the UK the lowest price is around £175

Have a search about, it might be even cheaper than this!
