What is the forecast on the prices of these nifty little cameras? Do you think that the prices on them will go down any time soon? I'd like to get one before the end of the year.

Also, does anyone have some suggestions for a good superzoom with a flip out screen?

It's been really hard to forcast camera pricing these days, so can't offer much there.

As far as other super-zooms with a flip-out screen, here's a few later model cameras with 10x and higher zooms:
- Nikon 8800
- Fujifilm S9000 (no "real" reviews I've seen yet)
- Panasonic FZ30

That's about it from what I can recall... :|

I believe those are all significantly larger than the S2. And more expensive.

I don't think the S2 is going to drop very much in price unless they come out with another model that overshadows it. Unfortunately, you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Dang. I might try waiting til after the holidays. Usually stuff gets a little cheaper around that time.
