Before digital, my cameras were SLR 35mm (Olympus OM and Nikon F-series)... but, I converted to compact digital.
My firstwas a Canon s100 (2.0mp)that I bought in 1999 mostly for it's sleek design - a beautiful thing. Function-wise, Igrew to loveit! It also took a lot of abuse - dropped many times, stashed in pockets, purses, in freezing temperatures, andtropics, etc... Overall, in it's 6 yrs. of service, I was very happy and it produced many excellent pictures over it's lifetime.
It's time to get a new digital camera.I thought it would be a simple upgrade... but, I'm debating between the Canon SD550 and Nikon 7900. They seem to have very similar specs. The Nikon is a little less price-wise.
Wondering about reliability, potential problems etc...
