I don't know whatphoto softwareyou use, but this should work. Using a copy of your picture - I usually copy the photo I'm resizing to my Desktop - open it with your photo software and click on 'Edit' and then 'Resize' on the drop-down menu, or look for 'Resize' on the main toolbar. Once you find it, type in, say, 1200 pixelsfor the width, making sure the 'Maintain Aspect Ratio' box is checked. The other dimension should automatically go to 900 pixels. When you save it, you should see a dialogue box that asks what level of compression you want to use.I find a quality number of 85 or so works. Starting with a 2 or 3 MB file, this should bring it down to anywhere between 60 and 200 or so KB. I hope this helps.
