Hey Guys!
I have short listed 2 cameras:

* Canon A510 3.2MP/4x Zoom
* Sony DSC S60 4.0MP/3x Zoom

Now whose picture quality is better?

Please provide your comments on above two models and suggest which one should I buy (i.e. which one is better).

Com'on guys! Can't you figure out the difference?
I am really in a fix as these two cameras are quite similar in terms of price and functioning.

Please suggest which oneout of the two is better.

Go on this link and you will find the answer

Both the cameras seem to have the same quality. There are very slight differences (the Canon makes better flms, which are about 8 min per 1 GB. You can find it out for yourself, whether this is important for you).

Regards Peter

Man that review highlights the comparison between the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H1 and Canon S2 IS.
I am talking about Canon A510 and Sony DSC S60.

if you were a bit more polite in your responses maybe more ppl would respond..

i would get the a510 as i think the canon image processor makes a cleaner, more vibrant picture.. you may also consider the a520, its not much more $$ and gives you a little more resolution to play with..

I agree with Hards80 about the Canon. And another factor is the use of Sony Memory Sticks as a storage media. They are more expensive than SD cards and you can only use them with Sony cameras, where SD and CF cards are interchangeable with other models. Jeff at dcresource.com gives the Canon A520 a highly recommended rating and it is listed as one of the best under $400:

Besides Steve's you can look here:
Sony S60 - http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SS60/SS60A.HTM
Canon A510 - http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/A510/A51A.HTM

This link will allow you to compare sample photos of each camera next to each other
http://imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM

The other day I ran across a site that basically allowed you upload pics, and you could view uploaded photos by camera. I liked it because they had photos from pros on down average Joe Blow (some really sucked). BUT it did show what you might expect from a camera with an average Joe behind the view finder instead of someone doing a review who (should) know what they were doing. Plus you could find all kinds of shots, indoor, flash, no flash, etc. Wish I had the link, I have been unable to find it again.
