$100-$160

Size


Pretty compact, the user will be a mom and a dad, their not the pickiest people in the world though.

Features


Megapixles = ~3mp+

optical zoom = standard

image quality importance = 10

manual controls = enough for an average user to pick up and use easily

General Usage

useage = normal parental usage

big prints = around the average picture-on-the-living-room-table and on the wall

indoor photos or low light photos = yes

shooting sports and/or action photos = 4/10

Thats a tall order, as your price range is pretty limited.

But I think you could look at a Nikon Coolpix 3200.

I noticed amazon.com has the CoolPix 4600 for $145 with free shipping. This has in-camera red-eye fix that's pretty effective according to Steve's review.

I agree that the Canon A-410 is a good choice, but also take a look at the Kodak Z730 as well. It is a lot of camera for the money.

Thanks guys. So far i've come to these options, whats the differences between them? Which one has the better image quality?

Canon A510
Canon A410
Kodak EasyShare Z730
Nikon Coolpix 4600
Nikon Coolpix 3200

Look at the Fuji A345: It's UNDER $150 4 MP, 3x optical zoom, very compactand does a decent job.

And don't leave out Sony S40. It has 4 MP, widish lens, 30fps video with sound. What say?
