I've read the reviews but I need feedback on these cameras. Pro's and cons maybe from owners point of view, what differs them...etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I don't own an H1, but I hear it has slightly less noise in the ISO 200 and 400 range. Though that comes at a price of slightly reduced image detail. The H1 has a nice large 2.5" LCD.

The S2 has 1.8" LCD, but it is moveable. Has a 0" super macro mode. Has 2.4 fps burst mode (I think the H1 is like 1fps). S2 is smaller. Zoom in/out during video. Snap pictures during video. Stereo recording.

I believe the S2 has a little more purple fringing in images. H1 has more powerful flash from what I hear.

Not sure how else to compare the two.

IS is very difficult to measure. Fromw what I've read from reviews, the S2's IS is the best of the bunch. But, that doesn't mean the others are no good. Personally, I wouldn't make a decision based on that info, though.

Put minus for Sony because of its proprietary memory.

Now I am really torn between these two. The "side-to-side" comparison is almost equal, I mean the stats. I can live with those proprietary memory, so minus that, what would you choose. Canon or Sony? I should have one before Christmas. **begs for help**

Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah, I am leaning towards the Sony too. But if there are other arguements with this, I can still consider it. Due date in two weeks time.

Happy holidays everyone.

I dont have the H1 so I cant say, But I did chose the S2 over the two. The lcd is nice on the H1, but the movie mode on the canon took me in that direction. Its very speedy, I have had no issues with the autofocus (have seen this in a forum thread before) and the stabilization at long zooms is impressive. I have no dissapointments in my S2, although the lens cap does fall off easily. It doesnt snap on, just sorta slides on.
One might consider this a feature as I can turn on the camera and the cap will pop off and Im ready to shoot in seconds
