Looking to spend no more than 300.00 on a camera. Looking for the BEST all around camera. If you had 300 to spend which one would you buy? Been looking at the A610 and Sony W7 any other ideas? Dont want anything to bulky.

Those are fine choices, but I would also consider the Panasonic LZ2 and the Fuji F10.

The Fuji F10 has very very good high-ISO performance, about as good as those of a digital SLR, as you can see at http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/fu...ix_f10-review/ . This should make it easier to take good pictures indoors and in other less-than-perfect-lighting conditions.

The LZ1 and 2 have 6X zoom in a not-too-bulky design. They're image-stabilized, too.

So if you want a little more zoom, I'd recommend the LZ1/LZ2. If you know you will be taking a lot of pictures indoors and you want them to be sharp, I'd recommed the Fuji F10.

If you want manual exposure controls, though, then those cameras are no good, and your choice of the Canon A610/A620 is a very good one. Personally, I like more zoom, so I'd spend that budget on something like a Panazonic FZ4, a Canon S1-IS, a Minolta Z3, or a Fuji S5100, something like that. They have manual exposure controls, and as you can see at http://airshowfan.com/guide-to-digit...s-2.htm#advice and http://airshowfan.com/guide-to-digit...as.htm#dontbuy , these big-lens cameras take sharper pictures.

I hope that helps.
