Sorry to be a pest, but after weeks of checking stuff out, I think I'm down to these two. I've let go of my desire for RAW (not least due to some excellent pointers raised in this forum.)

I carry my camera with me all the time, so robustness is a good feature. I also do a lot of post processing, so pix which leave me leeway for that are nice.

Is there anyone here who has compared the S80 and A620, or has any points to raise about their specs (which seem very similar.)

I would be very pleased to hear any comments.

well as nobody else has commented so far...

The S80 has a wider angle so would be great for panoramic views and the A620 has slightly more focal length so would be better if you needed slightly more zoom.

The A620 has a flip out and twist screen, handy for taking macro/weird angled shots. The S80 is more pocketable.

So its do you want panorama and pocketability (S80) or better focal length and photographic control (A620).

Both produce really good images looking at Steves test pictures.

Enjoy your cam whatever you choose and come post back here

Thank you so much forreplying Audioedge - that was much appreciated....

I think it's going to be the A620, asthose variables are important.

Thanks again for thefeedback.

Best wishes,

Caroline.

Canna-

The Canon A-620 seems also to be a sturdier kit than the S-80 as well.
