I'm very confused by the wealth of information available on the web! I check consumer reports web site, and they seem to recommend the Canon A520, which can be had for around $170 - a perfect fit for my budget. However, comments from other sites indicate the the wait time between pictures (especially with flash) is unacceptable. The top rated Fuji F10 looks great, but is priced out of my range. The sony DSC-W5 can be had for a little over $200, but I've read there are problems with fuzzy pictures.

Can anybody recommend a good point and shoot for around $200 street price?

I want something that is easy to use, takes good indoor photos (family birthdays, etc) and doesn't have a problem with red eye. Is that asking for too much at this price point?

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Why not take a look at the kodak Z730, the DX-7440, the Canon A-410, or the Olympus C-5500. All are under the $200 mark.

The W5 and A610 are in the same price bracket here.. If it's in your budget, it's a high rated cam, and very fast.

The W5 is on sale at a office supply chain for $229 and that includes a 256mb stick and an Epson printer. Cnet give it a 7/10 - anybody else want to chime in on the Sony W5?

It seems to me that you have to get above the $300 mark before you start seeing reviews that really recommend a camera...
