thanks. I plan to try the S2 and H1 this week. The FZ7 appears to be a new model aimed at replacing the FZ5. At least that is what I glean from Steves review posted today. While I would like a DSLR Ican't afford the entry price and future cost of lenses. Hope I won't sacrifice too much in quality of pics.

Well i think the colr on the fz30 is outstanding. i leave mine se to normal but you can boost it if you really want to using menu system or pp after.

dpreviews says the colour is very good with very natural results. and i agree. Also this would be the only cam i have seen reviewd as having NO purple fringing. The s2 found a fair bit. personally i cldnt stand this sort of distortion in my images.

i think the fz30 is in a totally different league to the h1 and s2. fz30 is more comparable to fuji s9000/9500.

but personally i still think the fz30 is a much better cam.

In relation to image stablir i took this image with no tripod and the shutter speed was set to a low 1/6 and stil gave very sharp results.

Sony are releasing the H2 in April and the H5 in May.

Could well be worth hanging on a couple of months(if you can wait that long) until these two cameras are available.

The H1 was quoted as the "near perfect Super zoom" by DP reviews. The H2 will definitely be an improvement, just because it has a Carl Zeiss lens.

I'm hanging on!
