Hi.

A good friend of mine is in the USA for 2 weeks and is thinking on buying a canon powershot a620 and he asked me for advice.

can you guys tell him (he will be looking at this post) what do you think of the camera???? and what about possible alternatives?

also very important.. what are the best on line shops to buy from??

It's supposed to be a fine camera and excellent value for money.* I'm tempeted to buy one myself but there area lot of new cameras about to be relaesed over the next month or two and it might be worth waiting to see what is around.* Canon may bring out something that supercedes this one in which case the price may well fall and it will be an even better buy.

The above link will also provide you with some respected online sellers...B&H has gotten a lot of good recommendations in this forum.

As for the camera, it is very good. Is it good for your friend's intended use? I don't know, because you didn't tell us what type of photography your friend is interested in, or what his budget is.
