I need suggestions on what waterproof camera to buy for our office. We have had 2 staff members already take cameras for a swim. We need not weather resistant cameras, but truely waterproof to at least 5 feet (this will insure that the camera will stay intact if dropped in a stream (I think 5 feet is good, since most of us will not be able to locate a camera in deeper water). This is you tax dollars at work (federal government) so we need to keep the price under $400. Thanks !

Sea&Sea http://www.seaandsea.jp/products/digital/index.html
the 5mp 750g is around 485$us or 8mp 8000g is closer to 900$us

or an Ikelite housing http://www.ikelite.com/ for an existing camera.

Now I would be interested to hear what work they do in that office? :G
Or is it testing how loophole proof laws are and those leak more than flat roof houses.

From normal digicams only few Olympus Point&Shoots (/prays) models are at least splash proof but I don't know is there any normal digicams which can handle submerging.

But there's separate third party waterproof housings.

What about cameras such as the Pentax WPI, that have received excellent reviews??

Can consider Pentax W10, water proof up to 5 feets.
Or Olympus SW720 up to 10 feets.

Looks like Pentax's WP models are also waterproof...

Budget wise Pentax would be better, they use common SD cards instead of proprietary xD.

Just noticed this list you sure want to check:
