First of all, welcome to the forum Well no, I haven't considered that camera. I gotta be honest with you, I'm the type of guy who first looks at the brand and although I'm really a rookie in the camera business Samsung is not exactly a well-respected brand, or in the same level as Canon for example. Even Panasonic is more respected than Samsung. Moreover, I really do not like the design of that model. Sorry...

Amother one to look at is the Ricoh R4.

I haven't seen a review for it as yet but it is very similar to the FX-01 [1 or 2mm larger] but with a 28-200mm reach

Just a thought............

i'm actually torn myself, between the samsung i6 and the panasonic fx01... i was leaninga little bit more towards the samsung as it can play mp3s and videos thereby offsetting the need for an ipod-like device and anothergadget to carry around... the samsung is also cheaper $299 v. $349...

the panasonic, however, probably has a better rep camera-wise... it also has the nice widescreen feature for both stills AND movies... 848x480??? wow that's a perfect fit for my ed display... would it look like hd??? that'd be quite impressive if the fx01 could do that easily... what kind of connections would it take? also, the fx01 has better iso ratings (whatever that means)... but.... it's thicker than the samsung...

anyway... still deciding... waiting for "expert" reviews for these cameras...

another thing was, i already had sd memory cards, so i didn't want to use anything but those, so that throws out fuji, sony, olympus...

i looked at the ricoh r4 and it's not as nice as the fx01... too thick and no widescreen...
