lMaybe Canon learned how to make smaller sensorsbut better to save battery.

The new A series takes only 2 batteries Vs. the A610/620 has 4.

Maybe the new smaller sensors out perform the larger ones.

I dont know if smaller sensors out preform lager ones or not. But I do know that with my A610 I've taken over 700 pics andI'm only on the 3rd set ofbatteries. soI think that having 4 bateries helps with baterie operating time and the camera recharge time.

I agree with you, the only problem is that it makes the camera a bit clumsier and heavier. Is it worth it?

Enjoy your A610! Its a great camera.

I think it is. But others might not. The extra weight I don't think is very noticable.
