You are awesome. I printed out the add for the canon s2 from Costco that I saw you had given to another member.

Walmart tells me they will match it. I am going to buy it today.

Let me ask you a question.

Do youfind that LCD display a problem. Havingto open it when ever you want to take a picture?

Is there a way to leave it open. Being an expert photo person like yourself, you probably use the eye piece anyways.

novice-

Yes, I do tend to use the EVF, except when taking macro shots where I have to use the LCD. The LCD can be stowed in the LCD out position just like any digital camera, if you prefer it that way.

If you extend your arms and use the LCD screen to frame and shoot your photos, you may really be sort of shooting yourself in the foot. In that stance, you have the highest potential for getting camera movement. As you already know, to get the very sharpest photos, the camera must be absolutely still when taking your photo.

Bought it.

Thank you

Interesting, I looked at my 1 meg old camera and it too is an earlier generation Powershot from Cannon.

This will probably be helpful as I go through the learning curve.
