Can anyone tell me what is fixed or improved in the firmware upgrade for the Kodak v570? The Kodak website doesn't say, nor does calling them provide an answer. I'm not experiencing any issues, only curious. The latest firmware is 1.02. Thanks.

I must be honest and tell you that other firmware updates recently done by Kodak on the P-850 and the P-880 have indeed left some unresolved issues. I also own the kodak V-570 and am not in any hurry to upgrade the firmware till I know more about it. So you are not alone in your feelings.

Thanks for the empathy. At least with the P880 Kodak told you what the firmware addressed.

There's a Usenet forum that some guy who works for Kodak posts to. I'll pose the same question there and will post an answer here if I learn anything.

Thanks, bobr-

That would be very helpful. On the P-850/P-880 firmware upgrade, actually entirelynew problems were actually created when doing the firmware upgrade. That was the point I was attempting to make.

The Kodak fellow (Ron Baird) replied that indeed it reason for the firmware upgade was to improve the exposure compensation.

I haven't played enough with the the existing EVs yet. Like you, I'm not sure it's worth the risk in upgrading just yet.

Just my thoughts.

I agree, Bob-

That is not a big enough so called "improvement" to make me want to load it.
